Audience and Purpose:
This course is designed for Directors and Managers working directly as Champions of Six
Sigma for breakthrough projects. It is assumed they come from different backgrounds and
disciplines and will be working on a variety of projects across the company. Topics include
an overview of Six Sigma concepts, required infrastructure, expected benefits, enterprise
level metrics, and the "DMAIC" method for achieving breakthroughs in performance and
project selection and management.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of the course the participants will be able to:
- Understand and describe the Six Sigma breakthrough process
- Understand the Champion's role in the Six Sigma Initiative
- Relate the roles and responsibilities of the Champion, Black Belt, Green Belt and
Team Members
- Understand the DMAIC methodology and how it applies to improvement projects
- Relate the core deliverables of each phase of DMAIC and the purpose of tollgates
- Identify projects with high probability for success
- Assist in project management and project goal completion
